JEECUP Round 6: The Joint Entrance Examination Council, Uttar Pradesh (JEECUP) has started JEECUP Round 6 choice filling for UP Polytechnic Counselling 2026 at jeecup.admissions.nic.in. Candidates can edit, choose, and rearrange their preferred branches and colleges from August 21 to August 23, 2026. This round is part of the additional counselling phase that follows the first five regular rounds and is meant to fill seats that remain vacant across government and private polytechnic institutes in the state.
Round 6 Counselling Schedule
Based on the choices submitted, candidates’ rank, and seat availability, JEECUP will announce the JEECUP Round 6 seat allotment result on August 24, 2026. Candidates who receive a seat in this round must complete the admission formalities, including seat acceptance and fee payment, between August 25 and August 28, 2026. Unlike the earlier rounds, this phase does not offer a float option, so candidates should treat any seat they accept as final rather than expecting a further upgrade.

- Log in using your JEECUP application number and password.

Cutoffs and What They Mean in Round 6
JEECUP Round 6 publishes opening and closing ranks after every counselling round, and these typically ease with each successive round as seats get filled and some candidates exit. Round 1 closing ranks are the most competitive, especially for Group A (Engineering and Technology) at popular government polytechnics, where General category ranks have stayed under 1,000 in recent years.
By Round 6, closing ranks are generally far more relaxed, giving candidates who missed earlier rounds a realistic chance at government and private institutes with seats still open. Category-wise cutoffs also apply, following UP’s reservation structure of 27% OBC, 21% SC, 10% EWS, and 2% ST, with each category maintaining a separate closing rank for every college-branch combination.
Candidates can check the official Round 6 opening and closing ranks on the JEECUP e-service portal once they are published after the seat allotment result, and compare them against their own rank to gauge the strength of their allotment before deciding whether to accept.
Admission Process After Seat Allotment
Candidates allotted a seat in Round 6 need to pay the seat acceptance fee of Rs 3,000 through the prescribed online payment mode to confirm their admission. Since there is no float option in this round, the seat offered is treated as final once accepted. Candidates should also keep their JEECUP rank card, Class 10 and Class 12 mark sheets, category certificate (if applicable), and photo ID ready for verification at the allotted institute.
