The JPSC Main Exam has been postponed by the Jharkhand Public Service Commission, according to an official notice issued on 22 July 2026. The Jharkhand Combined Civil Services Main (Written) Competitive Examination-2025, listed under Advertisement No. 01/2026, was originally set to take place from 25 July to 27 July 2026 across various centres in Ranchi. The commission has now deferred the test until further orders, citing unavoidable circumstances.
JPSC Main Exam 2026: What the Official Notice Says
According to the notice released by the Examination Controller, the JPSC Main Exam 2026 will not go ahead on its earlier scheduled dates. The commission stated that the decision was taken due to unavoidable circumstances, without specifying further reasons in the press release. Candidates who had been preparing to appear for the exam at designated centres in Ranchi have been asked to await a fresh notification on the revised dates through the official website.

Background: Allegations Around Exam Conduct
The postponement comes amid growing concern among aspirants and student groups in Jharkhand over the Jharkhand Combined Civil Services recruitment process. In recent days, questions have been raised about the agency responsible for conducting some of the commission’s examinations, with candidates and youth organisations demanding a review of tests handled by this vendor.
State investigating agencies are learnt to be examining these concerns separately, though the commission’s own notice does not link the postponement directly to any inquiry. Candidates are advised to rely only on official JPSC communication rather than unverified claims circulating on social media, since several unconfirmed versions of the postponement notice had already gone viral before the commission’s own confirmation on 22 July 2026. This gap between rumour and official word has added to the confusion among lakhs of aspirants tracking the exam closely.
Other Exams Affected Under Examination Calendar 2026
Along with the Combined Civil Services Main exam, the commission has also deferred the remaining examinations listed under its Examination Calendar-2026, which was originally published on 9 July 2026. All these tests now stand postponed until fresh dates are announced. This means candidates preparing for multiple JPSC recruitment drives scheduled later this year may also need to revise their preparation timelines once new dates are notified.
Aspirants who had admit cards or exam intimation for the 25–27 July window are advised to hold off on travel arrangements to Ranchi until the commission issues a fresh schedule. Regularly checking the official website, jpsc.gov.in, remains the safest way to track updates, since the commission has confirmed that all announcements will be made through its own portal.
