The 15,000 vacancies under this drive cover Primary School Teachers, Graduate Primary School Teachers, Physical Education Teachers (Grade I and Grade II), High School Assistant Teachers, and a newly created cadre of Computer Science Teachers. Of the total posts, 6,967 vacancies have been earmarked for the Kalyana Karnataka region, while the remaining 8,033 posts will be filled in the non-Kalyana Karnataka region. Karnataka Teacher Recruitment 2026: Selection Process
To oversee the recruitment, the government has constituted a 16-member examination authority headed by the Commissioner of School Education. As per the draft notification, candidates will be selected through a competitive examination, and the final merit list will be prepared based on a weighted average of marks obtained in this competitive exam, the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET), and the candidate’s academic record. Exact weightage, exam pattern, and syllabus details are expected to be specified once the rules are finalised.
