The Indira Gandhi National Open University’s July 2026 fresh admission window for new students has now closed as of July 15, 2026. Any late fee window extension will be announced separately at the official portal. Existing IGNOU students who missed the June 30 re-registration deadline will need to wait for the next session or apply for late re-registration with applicable penalty fees.
IGNOU had offered over 200 programmes for the July 2026 session, including MBA, BCA, BA, BCom, BSc, MA, and PhD programmes through Open Distance Learning and online modes. Students who completed registration and re-registration within the deadlines will begin receiving study materials and can appear in the December 2026 term-end examinations.

All new students were required to create their APAAR ID at abc.gov.in and DEB ID at deb.ugc.ac.in before submitting the admission form — a mandatory UGC requirement from 2025-26 onwards.
Why It Matters to Students
- Students who applied before July 15 should track their admission confirmation at ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in
- Late admission window (if announced) typically carries additional fees
- December 2026 term-end exam registration will open separately
