The Maharashtra ITI Admission 2026 process reached a key milestone yesterday, July 2, with the Directorate of Vocational Education and Training releasing the CAP Round 1 seat allotment list on its official portal, admission.dvet.gov.in. This marks the first major counselling outcome for lakhs of Class 10 and Class 12 pass candidates competing for seats across Industrial Training Institutes statewide, with document verification and reporting scheduled from July 3 to July 7.
How to Check Your Allotment
Candidates can check their status under the Maharashtra ITI Admission 2026 cycle by following these steps:

- Visit admission.dvet.gov.in and log in to the candidate portal
- Click on “Check Provisional Allotment of CAP Round-I”
- Enter your registration number and password
- View your allotted ITI institute and trade
- Download the allotment letter for verification purposes
Since Maharashtra ITI admission involves no separate entrance exam, the entire process runs on merit calculated from candidates’ Class 10 and Class 12 marks (Class 8 marks for select trades). The final merit list itself was released on June 28, after a grievance window that closed on June 27 following objections to the provisional list published on June 25.
Reservation Framework Behind the Allotment
The DVET CAP round seat allotment follows Maharashtra’s standard ITI reservation structure, which directly shapes cutoffs and outcomes:
- 70% of seats reserved for candidates holding a Maharashtra domicile certificate, with the remaining 30% open to outside-state applicants
- 30% of seats within each category reserved for female candidates
- 1% reservation each for PWD candidates and those from orphan homes
- These norms apply consistently across SC/ST/NT/OBC and open categories
What Allotted Candidates Must Do Next
Candidates who’ve secured a seat must report to their allotted institute with original documents for verification within the July 3–7 window to confirm admission. Those unsatisfied with their Round 1 seat have the option to select “betterment,” allowing them to retain their current seat while remaining eligible for an upgrade in the next round. The Round 2 preference-filling window runs parallel to this reporting period, also open from July 3 to July 7, giving candidates without a seat yet another opportunity before the cycle progresses further.
