The National Testing Agency has extended the NEET UG 2026 fee refund deadline to June 22, 2026, giving approximately 10 lakh candidates additional time to submit their bank account details and claim their examination fee refund.
The original refund portal was open from May 22 to May 26, 2026. By the time the window closed, only 13 lakh out of 23 lakh registered candidates had completed the process. NTA announced the extension through an official notice on its social media handle, stating that the extension was being given to help candidates who were yet to submit their details.
Why Is the Refund Being Given?
The NEET UG 2026 exam held on May 3 was cancelled by NTA after a confirmed paper leak. When the re-examination was announced for June 21, 2026, the government confirmed that no fresh fee would be charged for the re-exam and all fees already paid would be returned to candidates.
This refund covers all 23 lakh candidates who had registered and paid the original application fee.

Important Points to Remember
NTA has clearly stated that there will be no further extension beyond June 22. Candidates who miss this deadline will lose the opportunity to receive the refund through this official channel. The agency has also advised candidates not to use third-party bank accounts or internet cafe systems while submitting bank information. Using your own personal account linked with Aadhaar is the safest option.
Students who have already completed the submission do not need to take any further action. The refund will be credited directly to the bank account provided. If any technical issue occurs during submission, candidates should contact the NTA helpdesk through the contact details listed on the official website. This refund process is completely free and requires no additional documentation beyond valid bank account details.
