The National Testing Agency has officially activated the NEET UG 2026 fee refund portal for all candidates who had appeared for the cancelled May 3 examination. Over 22.79 lakh registered students can now submit their bank account details through the official website neet.nta.nic.in to claim a full refund of the registration fee. The portal went live on May 22 and will remain open until May 27, 2026, at 11:50 PM.
Candidates need to log in using their NEET UG 2026 application number and password. After logging in, they must click on the Fee Refund link and enter their bank account holder name, bank name, account number, and IFSC code. Students also have the option to upload a scanned copy of a cancelled cheque for verification. The NTA has clarified that once the bank details are submitted, no corrections or modifications will be allowed.
The refund comes after the NTA cancelled the original NEET UG 2026 exam following allegations of a question paper leak. The CBI is currently investigating the matter. General category candidates will receive Rs 1,700, while EWS and OBC candidates will get Rs 1,600 back. The total refund amount is expected to exceed Rs 300 crore.
Students who have not yet submitted their bank details should do so immediately before the May 27 deadline. The re-examination for NEET UG 2026 has been scheduled for June 21, 2026, and no additional fee will be charged for the re-exam.
Important Update: The NEET UG 2026 fee refund portal closes on May 27, 2026 at 11:50 PM. No extension will be provided. The Re-NEET exam is scheduled for June 21, 2026.
