The National Testing Agency has formally confirmed that the NEET UG 2026 re-examination will take place on June 21, 2026. This follows the cancellation of the original examination held on May 3, 2026, after findings by central agencies prompted NTA to take the decision in the interest of transparency and fair evaluation.
Medical aspirants will not be required to submit fresh applications or pay additional examination fees. The National Testing Agency has automatically carried forward all existing registrations, candidature details, and examination centre allocations from the original test. Fresh admit cards will be issued before the re-examination date through the official portal.
In a parallel development, NTA has activated a dedicated fee refund facility on the NEET UG registration portal. Candidates eligible for refunds must submit their bank account details through neet.nta.nic.in before the final deadline of May 27, 2026, at 11:50 PM IST. The refund portal requires candidates to log in with their registered credentials and provide accurate banking information to ensure processing.
The re-examination will determine admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, B.V.Sc, and allied health science courses across government and private medical colleges nationwide. NTA has directed all candidates to rely exclusively on official announcements published on the NEET portal to avoid misinformation.
