The Reliance Foundation Scholarship for undergraduate students is expected to reopen for the 2026-27 academic cycle in August 2026, based on the pattern followed in previous years. While the foundation has not yet released the official notification for this cycle, the 2025-26 round closed on 7 October 2025, and a similar timeline is anticipated this year.

Students planning to join or already enrolled in the first year of their degree course should start gathering documents now so they are ready the moment the portal opens on scholarships.reliancefoundation.org.

What the Scholarship Offers

Every year, the programme supports up to 5,000 meritorious undergraduate students from across India through a merit-cum-means scholarship selection process. Selected scholars can receive up to ₹2 lakh spread over the full duration of their degree, along with access to a national alumni network and mentorship support.

The initiative, run by Reliance Foundation, is aimed at students from lower-income households who might otherwise struggle to fund a full-time degree, and it covers candidates from every academic stream rather than restricting itself to a specific field.

Eligibility Criteria for Reliance Foundation Scholarship

Based on the 2025-26 cycle norms, applicants will need to be resident Indian citizens who have passed Class 12 with a minimum of 60% marks and are currently in the first year of a regular, full-time undergraduate degree. Household income should be under ₹15 lakh annually, though preference is generally given to families earning below ₹2.5 lakh.

Students pursuing degrees through distance, online, or hybrid modes, those who joined their course in an earlier academic year, and those enrolled in two-year or six-year programmes are not eligible. Appearing for the mandatory online aptitude test is also compulsory for every applicant.
