The SBI PO registration window closes today, 8 July 2026, giving candidates only hours left to apply for 1,500 Probationary Officer vacancies at the State Bank of India. The online application process, which began on 18 June 2026, has been active on the official careers portal, sbi.bank.in, and candidates are strongly advised to complete their SBI PO registration, document upload, and fee payment well before the deadline to avoid last-minute technical glitches from heavy website traffic.
Vacancy and Eligibility Details
Out of the total 1,500 vacancies announced under this recruitment cycle, 1,446 are regular vacancies, while the remaining 54 are backlog vacancies (18 in SC and 36 in ST categories). To be eligible for SBI PO registration, candidates must hold a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognised university, with the qualifying date for the degree set as 30 September 2026. Final-year students can also apply provisionally, subject to meeting all conditions in the official notification.

Application Fee and How to Apply
The application fee for SBI PO registration is ₹750 for General and OBC category candidates, while SC, ST, and PwBD candidates are fully exempted from paying any fee. Candidates can complete their application by following these steps:
- Visit the official website — sbi.bank.in
- Go to the “Careers” section and click on “Current Openings”
- Select the Probationary Officer (PO) Recruitment 2026 notification

Exam Schedule and Selection Process
Following the closure of SBI PO registration, the Preliminary Examination is scheduled for the first week of August 2026, with the Mains Examination expected in September 2026. The overall selection process consists of three stages — Prelims, Mains, and a final Phase III round comprising a Psychometric Test, Group Exercise, and Interview.
Once the online application is submitted, candidates cannot request any change in category or personal details, so it’s essential to review all entries carefully before final submission. Selected candidates will be offered a starting salary of approximately ₹80,000 to ₹82,000 per month, with a CTC of around ₹21.97 lakh per annum in metro postings. Candidates are advised to keep checking sbi.bank.in regularly for updates on admit cards and further exam-related announcements.
