BSEB Inter toppers scholarship: The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) will felicitate 168 meritorious students who secured places in the topper lists of the Intermediate and Matric Annual Examination 2026. Alongside the felicitation, the board is extending its free JEE and NEET coaching programme to all 700 Saraswati Vidya Niketan model schools and launching a new 24×7 interactive learning platform for students of Classes 9 to 12.
Scholarship Details Under Deshratna Dr Rajendra Prasad Medha Scholarship
Intermediate toppers will receive a monthly scholarship of Rs 2,500. This scholarship will be available for three years for students pursuing a general graduation course, four years for a technical undergraduate degree, and five years for an integrated five-year programme. For students enrolled in a technical diploma, the scholarship will continue until course completion.
Matric toppers in the top 10 will receive Rs 2,000 per month for two years, covering Classes 11 and 12. Similar to the Intermediate scholarship, this will also continue until completion for students pursuing technical diploma courses.
Merit Awards for 2026
The board has announced the following cash awards for top rank holders in both the Intermediate and Matric examinations:
- Rank 1: Rs 2 lakh
- Rank 2: Rs 1.5 lakh
- Rank 3: Rs 1 lakh
For Intermediate, students ranked 4th and 5th in the Science, Commerce, and Arts streams will receive Rs 30,000 each. For Matric, students ranked 4th to 10th will receive Rs 20,000 each.
All awardees will additionally receive Rs 51,000 for purchasing a laptop, along with a certificate and medal.
This scholarship programme was first introduced in 2017. Starting 2026, it has also been extended to the top three students of the Intermediate Vocational course, widening its reach beyond the traditional Science, Arts, and Commerce streams.

Bihar Vidya Sathi: New Platform for Classes 9-12
BSEB is setting up Bihar Vidya Sathi, a 24×7 live teacher-interaction platform for students of Classes 9 to 12 across all 700 Saraswati Vidya Niketan model schools in the state, aimed at giving students round-the-clock academic support.
Expansion of Free JEE and NEET Coaching
BSEB has been running free residential JEE and NEET coaching at two schools in Patna since 2023, and free non-residential coaching at nine divisional headquarters since 2024. In July 2026, evening coaching was further introduced at 10 model schools in Patna.
The residential programme provides accommodation, meals, smart classes, study material, health check-ups, and a monthly incentive of Rs 400. The non-residential programme offers smart classes, study material, and a monthly allowance of Rs 1,000.
Additionally, BSEB has introduced online JEE and NEET coaching across 145 model schools, with 4,959 students currently enrolled. This facility is now being expanded to all 700 model schools across the state, significantly widening access to competitive exam preparation for students in Bihar’s government school system.
