The National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to release the NEET UG 2026 re-exam city intimation slip by May 31, 2026. Over 22 lakh medical aspirants across India are waiting for this document, which will tell them which city has been allotted for the fresh examination scheduled on June 21, 2026.

The original NEET UG 2026 exam was held on May 3, 2026, but was cancelled by NTA on May 12 after central agencies and law enforcement authorities confirmed a paper leak. The government then announced a fresh examination to protect the interests of all registered candidates.

What Is the City Intimation Slip?

The city intimation slip is not the hall ticket. It is a reference document that informs candidates of their allotted examination city. This gives students advance time to plan travel and accommodation, especially those living in remote areas. The actual admit card for Re-NEET 2026 will be released by June 14, 2026, and can be downloaded from neet.nta.nic.in using the application number and date of birth.

Key Details Candidates Must Know

  • Re-exam date: June 21, 2026 (Sunday)
  • Exam timing: 2:00 PM to 5:15 PM
  • Exam cities: 552 in India and 14 abroad
  • No fresh registration required — all original candidates must appear
  • No additional fee will be charged for the re-examination
  • The admit card from May 3 is cancelled and cannot be used
  • Around 3.2 lakh candidates updated their city preference before the May 21 deadline
  • Candidates may receive 15 minutes of extra time during the exam

What Students Should Do Now

Candidates must visit neet.nta.nic.in regularly and check for the city slip link. Once the city is known, students should immediately plan their travel to avoid last-minute issues. Students must carry a valid photo identity card along with the admit card on exam day.

The re-examination is being treated as a completely fresh national-level test. NTA has confirmed that stronger security measures, including better monitoring of printing, transportation, and distribution of question papers, will be in place for June 21. Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has publicly stated that the government aims to make the June 21 NEET re-exam 100 percent error-free.

Students should avoid unofficial sources and rely only on the official NTA website for all updates related to the Re-NEET 2026 examination.
