In a major boost for higher education across the country, the SBI Foundation officially opened applications for the SBI Asha Scholarship 2026 on 22 July 2026, rolling out a ₹100 crore financial aid initiative designed to empower 25,707 underprivileged students. As of 27 July 2026, this newly launched scheme is rapidly trending among school and college applicants seeking merit-cum-need financial assistance for students across India.
Instituted under the foundation’s Integrated Learning Mission, the flagship program provides annual grants ranging from ₹15,000 for school pupils to ₹15,00,000 for candidates pursuing higher studies abroad. By removing financial barriers, the State Bank of India’s CSR arm aims to ensure that meritorious young scholars from low-income families can continue their educational journey without interruption.
